Acta Materialia seeks Joint Editor

Acta Materialia, Inc. seeks to appoint an editor who will consider manuscripts for publication in Acta Materialia and Scripta Materialia. Individuals with expertise in phase transformations and solidification are encouraged to apply. The qualities we seek in editors are:

• Excellence: Editors should have a track record of high-quality research in the areas of interest to the journals, a focus on quality over quantity, and preferably a demonstration of leadership in some other aspect of their career.
• Activity and Visibility: Editors are expected to be active members of the materials science community, presenting multiple talks per year and publishing alongside the community that they serve.
• Breadth: Editors should have technical expertise beyond a narrow niche and the breadth to understand the value of dissenting views.
• Strength: Editors should be strong decision-makers, aiming to make the best possible decisions in a timely manner.
